Pressure Washing in Cedar

Cedar is rural, and rural properties collect more than town ones do. Out here you are dealing with acreage lots, working land, gravel approaches, farm buildings and a lot of surface area that never gets a second look, and the exterior maintenance list is simply longer than it is for a house on a suburban lot.

Farm and hobby-farm properties are a different job. Where a suburban call is a roof and a driveway, a Cedar call is often a house, a shop, a barn or two, a carport and a couple of concrete pads, all of which have their own roofs, their own gutters and their own accumulated growth. Outbuildings are where moss gets furthest along, because nobody stands underneath them looking up the way they do at the house.

Approaches are long and often mixed. A typical property here has a gravel run in from the road that transitions to a concrete or paved section near the buildings, and that transition is where all the dirt ends up. Gravel wash, mud tracked off equipment, and the road grit that comes in on tires all collect on the hard section, and the parking and turning areas around the shop take the heaviest staining from vehicles and machinery.

Equipment lives outdoors here. Tractors, trailers, quads, boats and utility vehicles parked on a concrete pad through a wet winter leave a specific set of marks: fluid drips, rust shadows from steel resting on concrete, and the dark banding where tires sit for months. Those need treating individually rather than just being pressure washed and hoped for.

Tree cover is constant. Cedar sits in mature second-growth forest and most properties have significant canopy over at least part of the buildings. That means roofs in shade, gutters that fill with needles faster than anyone expects, and fence lines running through the trees that go green on the shaded face and stay that way from October through spring.

Fence runs out here are long. Property-line fencing, paddock fencing and yard fencing add up to a lot of linear metres, and it is worth deciding in advance which runs matter to you. We are happy to do the whole thing or just the sections you actually look at.
